The powerful magnetic force of permanent magnets extends beyond the insulated case, generating a moving magnetic field around the case through rotation. This moving magnetic field generates eddy currents in the molten aluminum, creating powerful molten metal flow.

Stirring force (thrust) is proportional to the square of magnetic flux density. Magnetic flux density is inversely proportional to the square of distance from the magnet. In Eco-SMS, the close distance between permanent magnets and molten aluminum (refractory thickness) generates extremely powerful stirring force.
